Hey guys, I recently ordered a new Haas Mini mill. It has the 10 tool umbrella type ATC. I have read that many have had issues with this type and I think I understand why, but just would like someone experienced with it to confirm. I suspect that chips and coolant are easily slung onto the tools and the holder. It will take more effort to keep the tools and holder clean than other ATC types.

Mini mill is targeted more at semiprofessional/high end hobbyists, developers, etc, afaik. There are doosan machines where i work, a puma lathe and a dnm something, but they were all well past hundred thousand euros. The cheapest they got was a leadwell for 70000. The mini mill is around 3040 thousand, depends how far you go with equipment.
