A good example of a powerviolence band with emo influences is Combatwoundedveteran. screamo is like the 90s posthardcore style of emo taken up a notch in intensity, notably in the vocals. Anyhoo.. After discussing the differences between powerviolence and grindcore with a friend. We came up with the theory that they are both a combo of death metal and hardcore punk. Grindcore is slightly more "metal" and powerviolence is slightly more punk. Essentially powerviolence is a looser and more gnarly version of grindcore IMO.

That's the difference. I think deathgrind is death metal and grindcore, and goregrind is brutal death metal and grindcore with more gore. I just think that with the death metal sound it gives it a bit of more serious darker riffing sound. As with goregrind it sounds more sped up wild and going all out with intensity.
